New scanner not shown in the image source list

Postby rgdacs » Sun Jan 13, 2013 10:41 pm

I installed SF AI Studio 8 with a ProScan 7200 on a XP 32 system. Now I additionally installed a Canon 9000F on the system, which I can operate using the Canon ScanGear software. But the Canon 9000F is not shown in the SF image source list and therefore cannot be selected in SF. What has to be done that SF will recognize the new scanner?

Dear customer,

Did you install the latest SilverFast 8 modules for both devices?
Each one has it's own separate installation file.

Please make sure only one of your scanners is attached at a time.

If you continue to have difficulties I will forward your request to our support system for further analysis.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Dear Arne,

I don't know what you mean by "install the latest SilverFast 8 modules for both devices".

I bought Silver Fast Ai Studio 8 together with a ProScan 7200 from ScanDig GmbH. For the first installation I used the CD I received fron ScanDig. In the meantime I upgraded to SilverFast 1r18 by means of the SF-8.0.1r18(AFL)_x86.exe internet download file. I have not observed any question on a san device.

After installing the Canon 9000F on my system, I repeated the SF-8.0.1r18(AFL)_x86.exe installation which ran to the end without any problem. But the 9000F is not shown under the SilverFast image source if attached to the system and switched on. If the ProScan 7200 is attached it is shown under image source.

Kind regards
Rainer

Dear Rainer,

SilverFast is always individually tailored to each device.
The AFL module is only suited for your ProScan 7200.
The Caonon 9000F requires it's own module which you can purchase as a crossgrade in our webstore.
There you can enter your existing serial for a discount.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Slightly different Q

I am getting a Epson V700, that includes SF6x,
I already own and use SF8x for my Plustek 7300,

Can I just install SF6x that came with the V700 and not have a conflict?
It will instal in a different directory by default.

Another words
can a computer have DIFFERENT VERSIONS of SF installed, (SF8/7300 SF6x/V700) and run independently, if I am using both scanners at the same time.

Dear customer,

Yes it is possible to install SilverFast 8 and SilverFast 6 on the same system.
The two softwares have no common components.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
