Thanks for the information, and encouragement that Reflecta are working on it.

I am interested because I hope it would speed the process up a bit. Am I right?

64bit drivers would allow more memory to be used.
So this can speed up the processing, that is correct.

There was no way to get Silverfast out of the "hang-up" habit until today, when I installed the new update 8.0.1r20. Now it works! But now there´s another problem: When I scan color negatives, the prescan result, as it should be, is a positive but then the final scan results in a NEGATIVE! What do I do wrong? I am frustrated, of course.

Please make sure that you do not select one of the 16/48/64bit HDR formats.

Those are unprocessed, "raw" images which need to be processed in SilverFast HDR Studio.
