Invalid Serial number after CD install and restart

Invalid serial number at end of install process.

Software works great then can't find scanner, final scans of BW medium format film are too black or looks like Hubble photograph. Prescans look great.
PC with 2 Gigs ram, at first SE6 ran impressively fast with beautiful results in color; then it steadily deconstructs, reinstall from CD an endless non-event. B&W negatives it simply has never ever worked at all.
