I had no idea that firmware could cause trouble. I have v2.1, I only upgraded a few weeks ago.

Umax told me,they just sent 2.2 to lasersoft and they told me,that it CAN cause problems,if the scanning software programmers don`t test it.But 2.1 is supported,as far as I know.

I would like to know from lasersoft,why a 3048 dpi scan only takes 20-30 sec. with 2.2 for a 24/36mm slide(instead of 120sec.with firmware 2.0)and wether it affects quality.

As far as I can make out Firmware v2.2 is for the PowerLook 2000 and not for the 3000. v2.1 is the latest.

They don`t offer 2.2 officially on the UMAX homepage,but I already got it from Thomas Reimann at UMAX.

Just went back to UMAX.de.Now 2.2 is available officially.
