Since 5.5.1r03 there is one DOR mode, that is scanning the whole flatbed, instead of DOR1 and DOR2,that scanned only one half of the flatbed. The new mode is okay for some purposes, but mostly I used DOR1.So please include DOR,DOR1 and DOR2 in the next release. And please check out firmware 2.2.I noticed, that in 3048dpi,firmware 2.2 needs only 20-30 sec to do the scan(without calibrating-time),while 2.0 needed 120 seconds.Would be nice, but isn`t quality suffering?

Efficient preview work procedure for the PL 3000
1. Set the prescan to higher resolution (under "Option" to 4x or higher)
2. Do the prescan
3. Use Zoom-Function (scan cartridge will not move now)
This way you can counteract the low speed of the scanner and with the higher resolution of the prescan and have enough pixel information to be able to zoom in with the new zoom function.

Dear Mr. President,
I guess we are talking about totally different things.First of all,if I set the prescan to 4x,it will of course take even longer to do the prescan, and btw I didn`t mean that prescan quality is not good enough.I just want to get the option again, not to be forced to prescan the whole flatbed,if I only need the first half. And I can`t imagine, that it takes too much effort to offer DOR,DOR1 and DOR2 instead of only DOR.
When I was talking about quality when using the 2.2 firmware,I was talking about the actual scan at 3048dpi(not the prescan). It`s actually three times as fast as i.e. 5.5.06 with firmware 2.1(or also Magicscan). And I found out, that quality does suffer,i.e. you get noticable more noise in the shadows. So I think,5.5.1r04 doesn`t address firmware 2.2 correctely.

What I wanted to say is,that it is obvious, that a scan, that took 120 secs.(24/36mm) with the previous firmware(until 2.1) and software(until 5.5.0r06) must be much better than a scan with the same resolution (3048dpi),that runs the same scan in only 25 secs.(with 2.2 and 5.5.1r04).Please test this behaviour on the Powerlook 3000.

Dear Stefan,
we will be checking your findings, but in the meantime you could try to do the preview with higher resolution and hit "command-point" to stop the prescan when your image has been covered and then zoom into your image.
That might even be faster than doing the normal Dor1 prescan.

Thanks for your reply.I`m looking forward to what you will find out concerning firmware 2.2.
