LaserSoft Imaging

I am using a UMAX Astra 6700 scanner on a Mac G5 OS 10.3.9

Is there a way to turn off the light on the scanner?

I don't want the light on 24 hrs a day.
Do I have to unplug it when I am not using it?

unfortunately we won't implement such a feature to turn off the lamp, or that it will turn off after a given period of time, in our software.
