LaserSoft Imaging

Hi, I'm a big fan of Silverfast and have found it to be the best scanning software I have ever used, espacially on the umax powerlook III. My problem, I guess, is in the hardware, but I'm not sure, so I'm open to suggestions and advice. I'm using a G4 OSX and Silverfasr SE, and have ensured the calibration area and the internal mirrirs are as clean as can be BUT when I scan or pre scan the edges of my scan are discoloured, usually a pale green. THe centre of the image is perfect. The scanner has a realtively new lamp and is situated in a alcove away from direct sunlight. Is this a hardware problem ... I guess so, but confirmation would be cheaper than a wasted call out fee from the Engineer!

One thing you might do to reduce the variables is to scan with another program to see if the same thing happens.
