After I scan, before the image appears on my desktop, I get a message that the RGB embedded profile doesn't match my system.

I am using photoshop 7.0.1 with a G4 dual 1.25, a Umax powerlook
1000 scanner.

Is there any way to get rid of this window?

thanks

Hello illostraight,

This is a standard Photo Shop message letting you know the color profile of the scanned image does not match what Photo Shop (PS) is currently set to use.

You may either change the scanners ICM to match PS or change PS to match the scanner.

Thanks,
I went into PS and changed the profile. I did not know how to change the scanner ICM profile. If you know where I find that, please tell me just so I know.

thanks again!

illostraight,

Click on the options button in Silverfast and you will find a number of things to may change including the color profile settings. Caution: Make sure to note the settings before you change them so that you may return to the default settings if the change does not produce the desired result.

Have fun!!!!

Ian Lyons does an excellent job of explainng the various settings on his website:

http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ps7-colour/ps7_1.htm

Lots of useful info there. :)
