Silverfast with UMAX Powerlook III

Hello, I have a UMAX Powerlook III and am using Silverfast-SE V.6.2.0r8. Actually, everything almost works except when you tell the program to do "Transparency" scan, using both top and bottom scanning lights, it only uses the top light. I guess the software can only support using a "reflective" scan. I'm using a powerbook G4 1.25 ghz with OSX 10.3 with photoshop 7 and also have a Ratoc firewire to scsi adapter. Has anyone had a similar problem? Does anyone have a solution? Thank you. :(

Regarding the previous inquiry, I made a mistake and am actually using a Belkin Firewire to SCSI adapter, (instead of the Ratoc) I'm not sure if this makes a difference.
Thanks.

I am confused with what your problem is. when scanning a transparency, only the top light is supposed to work--is this your question or is your scanner not scanning reflective work--when the bottom light would work??

Dear bettkramer

blkwht is correct, the top light is supposed to work when scanning transparencies, whereas the bottom light would be used for reflective scans.
