Back in July '02 you thought it might be a possibility - have you given up on the idea?

We regret we just received the appropriate SDK from UMAX allowing us to adjust USB and FireWire Umax scanners to OSX.
We will be working as fast as we can to support all UMAX scanners for OSX. Please be patient ? new versions will come soon!

The Astra 2100 is supported under OS X. Please try the current Demoversion for this scanner.

Thanks for the quick response - but I downloaded the software only to realize it supports only the 2100S not the 2100U. The USB scanner isn't listed in the supported scanners on the logfile. I should have realized that, as the demo download page shows only the SCSI symbol. Hope at some point it happens tho...
