UMAX 2400S with SilverFast Software and OS X (Not Working)

I just downloaded SilverFast for use with my UMAX 2400S scanner.
I am operating a Macintosh G4 running OS X 10.2.1.
I have Photoshop Elements 2. When I try to scan via photoshop, SilverFast says that it cannot find my scanner. The scanner is running and I just downloaded and installed the latest version of the Adaptec software for my SCSI card. The scanner will operated under OS 9 (not Classic) with the Umax software.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make it run under OS X with SilverFast?
Thanks

did you try release 6.0.1r42 of SilverFast?
is your scanner seen by the ASP in OSX?

Thanks for the input LSI_Engelhardt. I think that the problem is the second one that you mentioned. OS X does not see the SCSI card for some reason. I downloaded the latest driver for my SCSI card (Adapetc) and installed it. But when I do a "system profile" using the utility the SCSI card does not show up. It does show up on OS 9. And, I don't know anything to do to make it show up. When I contacted Adaptec some time ago, they said that the card is compatible with OS X. If you have any ideas about how to make the SCSI card show up on OS X please let me know.

I am also unable to get my Umax 2400s to work in Jaguar (10.2.4). OS X "sees" my scsi card just fine in the apple profiler. In fact I also have a zip drive hooked up via scsi that works just fine. Silverfast is "unable to locate the scanner" however. I have tried emailing support directly but have had no luck. Anyone???

In OS-X, some
Umax scanners seem to have severe problems with Adaptec SCSI cards. Please check in the System Profiler, if the scanner is being recognized there. It will be shown as "IOSCSI parallel device". The SCSI card is usually recognized just fine, but the scanner is not. This seems to be working better if a different brand of SCSI card is being used.
