Previews folder files... Why???

I have been using SilverFast DC-VLT the latest version and went to my Previews folder in the SilverFast (DC) folder and noticed megabites worth of files of images I have worked with.

Namely Preview and finals???

They are mounting up and taking up hard drive space.

It this normal and if so do I have to by hand delete them after a while of working with digital photography pictures?

I think that this is a waste of space and should not be happening.

Anyone have a clue about this or is this normal.

I also noticed a few also in the Prefs folder?

How can I make this NOT happen, I don't need to save previews and would rather not, they just take up space.

Anyone have a clue?

Awaiting your reply.

Dear markarts.

It is normal, that SilverFast keeps the preference and preview files for the last 6 opened files. We do this because then you still have the same settings, when you reopen one of these files and you also have a preview right away without the need to reparse the original file.

When a new file is opened and there are already 6 existing prefs/previews, SilverFast automatically deletes all prefs/preview files for the oldest image.
