Does anyone know if it is possible to get Silverfast 5.5 to work in "Classic" mode on the Mac. Until Adobe bring out Photoshop 7, I think Silverfast working in Classic is more important than working native in OS X.

Any ideas.

SilverFast HDR, DC, and even PhotoCD should work in classic mode currently. As for any of the hardware-specific versions, this is a bit more difficult.

Chances are you'll see some SCSI versions working first. If you are using USB or FireWire, it will be a bit longer as we will need to wait for the scanner manufacturer to produce new drivers for X before we can begin.

Many thanks for your response Nick. Why does such a capable company as SilverFast rely so much on such an incapable company as Nikon (Software wise) to create the drivers? How come v**s**n get my Nikon 8000 ED scanner to work in both Classic and OS X?

Currently we use their SDK's, which is comprised of their drivers called 'MAID'. This is what allows us to utilize their cool features such as Digital ICE.

Bypassing their drivers is in a way 'hacking' the scanner, something we try to avoid. We may change our setup in the future depending on how developement goes regarding their drivers.
