Novice question: I thought TWAIN was to make device inerface generic... so I would expect software that sopported a TWAIN interface should be able to attach to and use a TWAIN device.

IF this assumption is true.... why can't I use HDR on my HP 8200?

Thanks

Dear Mr. Kuttler.

TWAIN is a software interface between a graphics application and an image acquisition module (sotware that scans images from a scanner or reads images from a digital camera or from harddisk).

With the SilverFast Ai TWAIN modules, you can scan images directly from your scanner into your application.

SilverFast DC, HDR and DCPro are special modules, which do not support scanners, but can read images from your harddisk.

Best regards.

If Silverfast AI supports TWAIN, could I use it to as an interface to my HP 8200 Scanner?[/quote]

The HP 8200 is not supported yet. We are in communication with HP to get information for this scanner, but there is no shedule yet, when an implementation could be finished.
