HDR is supplied with a Cal Image. How do I use this Image to calibrate? Why do I have no Grey profile in my CMS settings box? How do I get a generic grey profile?

Dear Camerapro.

Please find a detailed tutorial on how to use the IT8 calibration of SilverFast <a href="http://download.silverfast.com/docs/SF-Color-Management-en.pdf">here</a> or <a href="http://www.computer-darkroom.com/sf6-it8/sf6_1.htm">here</a>.

The generic gray icc-profile needs to be located in a default folder to where the CMS mangers "looks" for the profiles. On WinXP the location is <a href="/img/forum/path_icc_winxp.jpg" target=_blank>here</a>.

Kind regards.

I am not speaking of the IT8 Target. HDR is suppied with a Cal_Image.jpg with a scale on the right side. This is the image I would like info on. Also my profiles do not include a Generic Grey.icm file I am using Photoshop 7 where can I get this profile?

Dear camerpro.

The image "Cal_Image.jpg" is not usable for calibration. It is a image that is included in HDR and is displayed automatically the first time you start HDR. If you want to calibrate your software you?ll need an IT8 target. You can either use one from LaserSoft or a third party target.

Also please note, that the base version of HDR has no built in IT8 calibration feature, you will need to upgrade to HDR with IT8.
