It costed me quite some time (for others it may have been obvious or
they do not care because they use just 16bit inputdata) to figure out
that the configuration in options "Gamma in HDR Data" is just valid
for 48bit files and for 24bit files always 1.8 is assumed.

This is important for digital camera files from my point of view. It means
if I setup Gamma to 2.2 I get the image with each open/save sequence
brighter although nothing else is changed.

Why is the configuraiton entry not valid for 24bit and 48bit data?
(Did not find anything about this in the documentation)

One should avoid to do gamma changes on a 24 bit file, because it results in histogram gaps (steps in image colors) on one hand and you loose details in the over part of the histogram.

The message is thus to let gamma stay at 1.8

thats not the point, the point is that if you generate a 24bit file
with gamma 2.2 and you setup HDR for gamma 2.2 and gamma
in HDR 2.2, at least I assume that the gamma is not changed when
I open a picture.

But in reality it is changed because HDR seems to assume
(at least I did not find it documented somewhere) gamma 1.8 always
for 24bit data.

Hallo everybody,

the Windows Photoshop Plugins of SilverFast HDR 6.0.2r37 still believes that all 24bit pictures have a gamma value of 1.8. If SilverFast HRD is configured to a gamma value of 2.2, then all 24 bit pictures, which are opened with SilverFast HDR, are displayed wrong. They are displayed to light. If SilverFast HDR is configured to a gamma value of 1.8, Silverfast HDR displays 24bit pictures in the right way.

I think this is a serious bug - but up to now LaserSoft has not fixed this bug!!!

ich habe einen Fehler in der Gammakorrektur von Farbbildern mit 24 Bit Farbtiefe bei SilverFast HDR unter Windows gefunden.

Meine Systemkonfiguration:
- Windows ME
- Photoshop 7.01 (Farbmanagement deaktiviert)
- SilverFast HDR 6.0.2r37 Photoshop-Plugin
(Farbmanagement deaktiviert, siehe Screenshot)

Fehlerbild unter Windows:

Ein Testbild (*.TIF) mit 24 Bit Farbtiefe (ohne Farbprofil) wird in Silverfast HDR ge?ffnet. Das Testbild enth?lt eine Fl?che mit einem 50 % Grauwert (128,128,128)

Im Einstellfeld "Gamma Gradation" ist der Wert 2.2 eingestellt:
==> Eine graue Fl?che mit 50 % Grauwert wird zu hell dargestellt, n?mlich mit dem Helligkeitswert (145,145,145). Siehe Screenshot. Beim Erstellen des Screenshots befand sich der Cursor ?ber der Fl?che mit 50 % Grauwert.

Im Einstellfeld "Gamma Gradation" ist der Wert 1.8 eingestellt:
==> Eine graue Fl?che mit 50 % Grauwert wird mit der richtigen Helligkeit dargestellt, n?mlich mit dem Helligkeitswert (128,128,128).

Meine Vermutung:
Das Photoshop-Plugin SilverFast HDR 6.0.2r37 f?r Windows scheint der Meinung zu sein, dass 1.8 der Standard-Gamma-Wert f?r Windows ist. Da l?sst der MAC wohl gr??en!
