Output resolution

Dear Laser Soft,
I need to manage output resolution in batch jobs with Job Manager. I could not do it with an earlier release of SF HDR 6 and I cannot do it with r43 as well.

To avoid discussion around general topics, I will be very specific.

Goal: I want to have output resolution of 300 ppi with 10x8 inches, does not matter what source files actually are.

Mode: I use Batch Mode (File)

Frame: I have set original 10x8, output 10x8, I typed in Q-Factor=1.0, Screen= 300 lpi. I got 300 dpi appeared in appropriate box.

Source Files: I have 3 source files in my job
a) 192 dpi, 10x8
b-c) 72 dpi, 32x21.3

Details, which may be meaningful:
I used USM as a part of process

Based on my Frame parameters I expected to get results of 300 dpi (for the first file, at least). But I got the same resolutions and sizes as they were initially

Questions
1. Is it possible to manage output resolution in Batch File mode?
2. If yes, what did I do wrong (or did not do)?

Thank you in advance
Henry

At first there seems to be a missunderstanding of the process mode: The choice there is only valid when doing normal scans without the JobManager, e.g."Batch Mode (File)" means, that when pressing the scan button all FRAMES inside the preview (only for the currently loaded image) will get scanned with their individual settings.

The JobManager is independent of that setting. It will always process every entry in his list when pressing the start button (or the selected entries if there's a selection in the list). The settings you make in the SilverFast UI (resolution, size etc.) do not influence the settings for the JobManager, they are independent of each other. If you want to use special settings for files you want to add to the JobManager, you can adjust this settings in the SilverFast UI and save them with the Settings popup. Once saved it's possible to use this setting when adding files to the JobManager. When you add them, an options dialog pops up, which asks for the setting that should be used for the files. The default selection is "SilverFast Defaults", but here you can also select your saved setting. Additionally there's a check box "Keep original resolution". When selected, the files will keep their individual resolutions, when deselected, all files will get the resolution specified in the selected setting.

So to answer your questions:
To get the same resolution for every image you add to the JobManager save a setting with that resolution and choose it when asked.
Other (better) possibility:
Once the files are added to the JobManager, you can edit one JobManager entry (select e.g. the first entry and click the pencil icon) and make the appropriate changes (e.g. 300 dpi and an output size of 10x8). Save the changes (click Save) and select the entries in the JobManager, which should get the same settings (with Shift-Click or Strg-Click). Then click the "Copy parameters" icon (the one to the right) and there you have the choice which settings should be applied to the other selected entries. In your example you would select "Output width", "Output height" and "Output resolution". Be careful: When selecting both "Output width" and "Output height" the image will get an output size of 10x8, no matter what image ratio it originally had. If you just want to make them all 10" wide, only choose "Output width" and the height will change accordingly, keeping the orginal image ratio.

Thank you Ralf

Now (with r43 and after your explanations) I can do even more than I initially wanted trying to manage output settings.
