Does anyone have extensive experience with the Kodak RFS 3600 scanner and Silverfast 5.5? How does it compare to the Nikon LS2000 or LS40? Can I expect similar results with Kodak?

Kodak RFS 3600 versus Nikon LS 2000

You would compare a newer scanner (RFS 3600) with and older (LS2000) scanner.

First of all the RFS 3600 has got a resolution of 3600 dpi versus 2700 dpi with the LS 2000. Advantage of the LS2000 is Digital Ice and different film adapters (APS, Filmstrips, single slide), while the RFS 3600 support film strips and single slides only.

The final decision is always to look at the image quality versus the price you pay for the scanner.

Ever try to batch scan with LS 200. not gonna happen unless you mount each frame or using slides. plus you need to purchase another adapter to batch process with LS 2000. the Kodak RFS 3600 can easily take a roll uncut. :)
