identical problem to that posted below for a PC, but on a mac, within photoshop, using newly installed Silverfast version 5.2. Scanner is Scanmaker X12USB. I've tried to think out what the equivalent actions for a solution on the mac would be, but my limited wits mean that I have failed -help!

Try SilverFast 5.5 demo and see whether the problems persists!

Thx, I took the leap of faith and bought the upgrade prior to both of your responses - problem solved. Now with Photoshop 7 I look forward to rapid USB implementation of OSX (some customers are never satisfied !)

Same prob, but with SF6

I have the same problem. I have followed the advice and unchecked the "enable scanner buttons" menu item. I've updated to the latest Silverfast release (R27). I have a Scanmaker 8700 on Mac OS9.
Also Silverfast causes my mac to make warning "pings" which are annoying.
I've been tying to sort this problem for around 5 hours now and need to use the scanner desperately. Please help.
