LaserSoft Imaging

I'm using Microtek 8700 on firewire with SF5.5.1r06 as a PS6 plugin. Every time I press prescan I get an error message 'error in scan start cannot calibrate scanner'
The scanner works without any problems in microtek's scanwizard. Can anyone help me solve this error please? (PC - windows ME)

The ScanWizard installation will also install a little "button manager" tool that will be loaded on each system start-up. This tool appears as a little icon in the program bar below - left of the system clock.
If you righ-click that icon (looks like a "prohibited" sign) a menu will offer three choices:
Find Scanner
Activate Scanner Button(s)
Exit

The "Activat Scanner Button(s)" is active by default - and this is causing problems!!!

Solution: left-click once on that "Activat Scanner Button(s)" and it will be unchecked. Now SF should work o.k.
