LaserSoft Imaging

I have a Microtek Scanmaker 6000 and I'm trying to get a good scan of a microfiche. I use a piece of glass to lay on top of fiche to ensure that it lays flat but I get a fuzzy out of focus image. Same microfiche provides sharp image on a Microfilm Reader at local library.

I have a 142 page thesis I need to scan into my computer for OCR. One shot deal. Anyone have suggestions about how to sharpen image?

I have found out that the problem is the inability of a scanner to focus. There is a solution that involves opening the scanner and removing the glass bed. Replacing this with another glass that is held in place by finely threaded bolts at each corner, allows you to move the glass up and down in very small increments.

This was beyond what I was willing to do and I have paid a local company to print them for me.
