LaserSoft Imaging

I noticed in a post from last October that there was a statement that digital ICE support was being negoiated for the Scanmaker 6800. I have not seen any other comments on that subject. Is that support now available for the 6800?

thanks for asking. Unfortunately "Digital ICE" is not (yet) supported for this scanner. We will change the Microtek 6800 entry on the supported scanners list ( https://www.silverfast.com/product/Microtek/407/en.html )accordingly any minute now.

Does this mean that there are still plans for supporting digital ice for the microtek 6800 and if so, would such an upgrade be made without additional cost to existing licensed users.

at present ICE cannot activated by SilverFast with this scanner. The constraint is not a technical one, but due to licensing issues. We will have to wait and see...

However, I am positive that if there'll be a SilverFast version supporting ICE in that scanner, it is quite likely that this will come with a simple update version downloadable for free.
At least this is how we did similar things in the past. That would mean no extras costs. Please understand this as a personal opinion.
