We are using a Microtek Scanmaker 9800XL attached to a Windows 2000 PC by Firewire cable. This PC has SilverFast Ai6 installed as a plugin for Photoshop and functions correctly. This PC also has the Microtek Scanner Server (MSS) software installed so that other Microtek clients on the LAN can use the scanner through the Microtek TWAIN driver.

However, if we install Silverfast on the client PC's, they cannot 'see' the scanner over the LAN through the Silverfast plugin within Photoshop.

Is it possible for us to use Silverfast and this scanner over the LAN in this way?

Dear Sherpa -
SilverFast communicates directy to the Scanner - so it requires to be connected direct to the scanner by - USB, FireWire or SCSI, but not by LAN.

Sorry - SilverFast cannot used over a LAN
