TWAIN-Driver does not show up

Hi,
whenever I try to scan using ScanMaker 9600XL/SF5.5, every program using the driver supplied either as a TWAIN-Driver from Microtek itself or with Silverfast 5.5, there is absolutely NO reaction from the drivers, no pop-up, nothing. The scanner itself will be recognized from WindowsXP's Device Manager, the Scannertest-Util from detects the scanner, too.
Only if I try to scan with Silverfast or the TWAIN-Module from Microtek, these simply do not load or present themselves on the screen.
In my opinion, it might be a problem with some other programs installed especially for this user, because if I login as another user, there are no such problems. NO, I won't use that user-login, I don't like his email-adress....
Is there anything known about a program whatever kind it may be, which would suspend the use of Silverfast in any way?
thnx,
I. Schulte
