SilverFast for ScanMaker 6800?

Since Epson's Perfection 2450 seems to be discontinued (before I could get my hands on one - see my post in the Flatbeds:Epson forum), I am looking for alternatives.
Microtek's ScanMaker 6800 seems to be a nice scanner. Does anybody have any experiences with this device?
And will it be suppoerted by Lasersoft?

If you are interested, please feel free to download a demo version (from our website at: Download -> SilverFast demo.

This way you can easily assure yourself that your personal systems configuration does work before buying anything.
Thus you are able to explore all the features of SilverFast and check if it suits your needs.

Please make sure that the Microtek scanner finder is not running => check your Macintosh dock items. If it is, please stop the program by dragging its icon out of the dock.
It will then no longer block SilverFast's access to your Microtek scanner.
