Hi
I have some dias slices with pictures from high mountains
that is
some snow at a distance
maybe snow nearby
some rock at a distance
some rock near by
some mountainside in shadow
a wery wery blue sky
and often a climber near by
all the scanns become wery dark
and every structure or details on mountains in shadow are gone
I have tryed 3600dpi/jpeg/48->24 and used all the sliders in SilverFast 8
and 7200dpi/tiff/48HDR and workin with PhotoFiltre StudioX
with no satisfactory result
my scanner is Plustek OpticFilm8200i
please help
Erik

Re: mountain-dias is wery dark
Dear Erik,
How do you set the highlights and shadows?
The Image auto adjustment has several options.
Please try different ones for your images.
Otherwise try using the pipette tool to set the highlights and shadows.
Use the white point on snow and the black point on the darkest spot in your image.
In case you get a blue cast in your images you can neutralize them by using the neutral tool on a gray rock or similar area.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
