Optical resolution setting for maximum scan quality scan

Silverfast 8 comes with a new Resolution Bar with slider, something which was not present in SF6. From left to right the bar has a green, yellow and then red coloured sections.

If I wish to get HDR scans of the highest optical quality my scanner (Nikon LS5000 which scans at 4,000 dpi) is capable of without interpolation, should I be moving the slider to the very end of the green and not go into the yellow and red parts of the Resolution Bar?

My presumption is that if I stay at the right end of the green I will be taking advantage of the maximum optical scan quality my scanner is able to produce but that if I venture into the yellow and red sections, there will be interpolation. Or have I completely misunderstood what the gree, yellow and red sections of the Resolution Bar mean?

Dear customer,

The yellow setting is the last physical resolution.
The red one is the interpolated value.

As long as you do not set any scaling factor the yellow setting will give you the desired highest resolution scan without interpolation.

It is yellow because any upscaling will bring it into the interpolation values.
