Colours don't look right in some applications

I have bought a Reflecta Crystalscan 7200 with Silverfast ai in order to digitise my large collection of 35mm colour transparencies. I have set everything up in accordance with the online help, and am getting good quality results in 24 bit jpg format using Photoshop Elements 8.

My problem is that when I subsequently use jpg files for use on other applications, I loose colour quality. So the pics look great in PSE but all washed out for instance when imported into MS Word or PowerPoint. I am guessing there is some embedded colour setting within the jpg file, but can't see a way of altering this so that the colours look as good in other applications as they do in PSE.

Any suggestions?

Rob

Dear Rob,

Many softwares (especially office products) do not have any kind of color management.

After adjusting your images in Photoshop try saving them using a small unproblematic colorspace like sRGB.
Most software should ba able to handle that.

kind regards,

Thanks - does the job beautifully.

For anyone else with the same problem, in Photoshop Elements the command is:

Image > Convert Colour Profile > Convert to sRGB Profile
