Scanner: Dear LaserSoft Imaging Community:
I'm trying to scan a print that is dark and low contrast. When I scan it, the scanner seems to have trouble; it halts and makes about 3 passes. When it's finally done the scan it very pixelated with large pixels.
I'm using an Epson V700 flatbed scanner with Mac OS 10.6.7. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Line Art Scanning

Postby Lyndon » Sun May 20, 2012 7:05 am

Dear Silverfast Community: What's the best way to scan line art? I want to scan an auto repair invoice; I've tried and it doesn't print very well. I think part of the problem is that the original is yellow colored and there isn't very much contrast. I'm running Silverfast 6.6.2r4 for an Epson V700 flatbed scanner. I'm on a Mac running system 10.6.8. Any ideas?

You should probably better scan it as greyscale (16->8bit).
A 1bit line art scan might look a little hard.

Try placing the pipette's white point to the paper and the black point to the writing.
You can use the neutral point pipette to remove the yellow background by also using it on the paper.

kind regards,
