Hi there,

There is a book on its way to publication, it should be around in the course of this month (April 2012) or at the latest next month.

Other books are under work and will follow afterwards.

Kind regards

What's the status of the User Manual that was projected to be released in April 2012?

The user manual is currently still in production.
New files will be released as soon as they are available.

Luminous-Landscape author Mark D. Segal has also written anindependent bookfor current workflows using SilverFast 8 we also offer this in our website's shop.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Just upgraded to SF8 after using version 6.6 for many years. The old version had an extensive manual for both AI studio and the HDR software. (I am using with a Nikon LS-9000) I know there is a third party book, however, there does not seem to be any user manual for the software other than the few very short, limited guides. Has the user manual ever been finished and where can I get a copy? I find it hard to believe that a piece of software this complex with a significant learning curve does not have user manual???? Cant be.

Yes, I feel the same spirit :)
It is somewhat surprisingly that we have to buy a book seperately to understand our software. The book itself seems to meet the expectations. And the free download of the first 23 pages is helpfull as well. I can understand, that this book will also be a great support for someone who is evaluation which version of Silverfast 8 will be suitable for him. And I understand as well, that silverfast (and the external author of this book) will not give it for free to everyone in the web. But I would appreciate very much, if the book could be downloaded for (nearly) free at least for registered buyers of the software.

Sorry we do not have any influence on the books price.
That is set by the author.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Hello,

If you are in need of an excellent tutorial for SilverFast 8 while we wait for the manual sign up to Lynda.com (free for the first week) and search for 'Scanning with SilverFast' - it's very well structured (you can jump in to research a particular aspect or move through the course step by step) plus the teacher is excellent.

Good luck all,
Madeleine
