I don't know whether I installed the software wrong or if there's something else I missed.
All I want to do is scan positives and negatives using the dust/scratch removal feature. Photoshop isn't letting me use that feature...at least I think it isn't, because it doesn't show up as an option when I try to scan an image. What do I need to do to scan an image and have it open in photoshop so I can continue processing it?
Can someone give me that advice? Much appreciated..I dislike having this wonderful tool and not be able to use it as I need to.

Hi
Do you mean, you start SilverFast from photoshop and do not have the SRD or iSRD button present?
Or do you mean you do not have the option to start SilverFast from within photoshop?
What version of Photoshop is that?
What scanner model are you working with, operating system, SilverFast version?
Best regards

Re: How to use the Dust feature and still use photoshop...
Thank you for responding.
I am using Photoshop 6.0. I have a Plustek7600i.
All I can tell you is that it opens in Photoshop and that button you see in the video for Dust/Scratches isn't available.
I thought I'd heard that you couldn't use that button if you used Photoshop, so I am looking for an alternate method. Version of Silverfast? Where do I find that? I purchased the unit in Oct of 2011. Seemed to have the latest version but it's not showing up in my program files.
So...do I need to uninstall the program and start over? There were some options. Or am I missing something? As clear as they try to make the instructional video they seem to be preparing me for another way to do it without Photoshop.
I love to use Photoshop. It's all I have used; probably because I got a great deal on it when I got it. Haven't upgraded to higher levels or next generations. Do I need to do that to use that Dust/Scratch function?
I had a Dimage 5400 and it worked fine but when I changed OS to Windows 7 it wouldn't work because there was no driver update. I was stuck. I HAD to get another scanner and this seemed to be one of the best...but if I can't use it for what I need, it's useless!

Hi David
Would it be possible for you to make a screenshot of SilverFast started as standalone version (showing the iSRD button) and another screenshot of SilverFast started as a Photoshop plugin (showing the absence of said button)?
It might help to download and install the standalone version.
Kind regards

Have you figured out how to fix this issue. I'd be interested to know what you did

Re: How to use the Dust feature and still use photoshop...
I too am using SF Ai Studio 8 on my Plustek 7600i and I have PS CS6 64bit.
I open SF on it's own (not in Photoshop) and the iSRD button is there. I save the scan as a .tiff file in a folder, in [My Pictures].
From there, I use in Lightroom 4 to open the .tiff file in PS CS6 and I have no problems.
