Blueish blobbing on light areas

Hi there,

I'm using Silverfast 6.6.2r4a using an IT8 calibration target and Epson Perfection V700 scanner. I've noticed on some scans there is an odd blueish blobbing pattern which appears on the final scan (the blobbing is not on the original photograph). It seems to appear on light areas of scans. I've moved the photos around the scanning bed and the blobs move randomly around the scans and sometimes there are more blobs than before and in different areas. I've tried changing the colour profile but the blobs remain.

I do clean the bed with solution, but I make sure this is fully dried/wiped off before commencing scanning, so I don't think it's this. I've attached a scan of two photos that suffer from this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Luke.

Dear Luke

Please try scanning the same pictures showing this problem using the Epson software.
If the blueish spots are present while scanning with the Epson software then the problem might be the scanner itself. Should that be the case, hopefully is the glass and not the sensor of the scanner.

Cheers

Hi there,

I've found out that it was the solution I was using, so I've swapped that and it's fine now.

Thanks for your time,
Luke.
