Port IT8 Calibration info to another machine

Hello,

I have SF AI Studio which comes with my Microtek M1 scanner. I installed it on one PC, performed IT8 calibration, and got some nice results.

I've just got a new PC running 64 bit Vista. I've installed SF on this machine. My question is if I can "transfer" the calibration profile from my previous machine to this one so I don't have to perform calibration again.

Thanks.

Dear old_old_fox,
this could work as you are using the very same scanner, BUT if the other computer has a different OS or driver version, the problem is that Microtek could have changed something in the driver so the resulting scans are a tad different.
The safe bet would be to redo the calibration !

best regards,

Thanks. I've successfully re-calibrate the system.

However, this time around I found that the colors of the scanned slides are completely off the mark. After some study, I found that in while in SF I set "embedded ICC with Adobe RGB", when the file is opened in Photoshop, PS thinks the color space is sRGB instead of AdobeRGB. Manually assigning AdobeRGB colorspace solved this issue, however I have to remember to do it for every single scan.

How can I let PS recognize the corrected color space?

Thanks,

Dear old_old_fox,

That is not a problem of SilverFast but of Photoshop directly, in such cases you have to let photoshop know what to do with the color space of imported files. In that case I believe should be specified under "color settings".
