Really basic question from first time user of IT8 calibration techniques. I cannot seem to download the appropriate reference files.
Can someone please run through the process so that I can see what I am doing wrong.

Richard,
It's kinda hard to run through the full process when we can't get past stage 1 - the bit you're stuck at is fundamental to getting a good calibration. The info "WE" require to help you is the the reference number on the IT8 target. ALL have a series of numbers and some letters either on the print/slide. Sometimes it will be a charge number in the form of R010713 (example only). On others it might be R2X C-ROES. Check you IT8 and advise what is shown on it (all the numbers and letters)

Thanks for prompt response.
I have found the necessary matching reference files on the SilverFast site.
They are:
Reflective R010713
Transparency T010725
My problem is how to transfer these codes to the IT8 reference folder on my own PC. This will then allow me to proceed with the calibration process.

Richard,
you download the two files and copy them to the IT8 reference folder. That is all there is to it.
So far as actual calibration is concerned see:

To IanL,
Many thanks for your help. Having also just upgraded to Windows XP I was suffering from a mental block caused by a change in the way it handles file downloads. The reference files now safely reside in the correct location and I will try again.
Will let you know the final outcome.
Regards.
Richard.
