LaserSoft Imaging

I have just purchase SilverFast and I was wanting to do the Calibration. I prescan and then select the area (it very hard to see even bigger) I click start and it says it can't do grey scale and for me to reselect the image. I have moved that sucker all over and still can't get any further. Can some one help me. I am feeling very frustrated and stupid.

The problem you are experiencing is a common one for those new to IT-8 calibration.

The short answer:
Your selection is too large. Check carefully the area that Silverfast suggests you select... and then make your selection a tad tighter.

The edge of youe selection must reside within the swatches...
