Negative "Fine Frame Inset" value

I'm using SilverFast Ai Studio v6.6.0r2 with a Nikon LS-5000 slide scanner. Under options on the auto tab there is a "Find Frame Inset" item. I could not find documentation but playing with it I figured it out. Clicking the "find image frame" button automatically finds the frames around images. If the "Find Frame Inset" is set to say 10, the the frame is reduced by 10%. Nice feature. The value for "Find Frame Inset" can be set from -20 to 20. Unfortunately the negative values do not work. I wanted to set a value of -3 to scan some of the boarder for my slide but setting a negative value is the same as setting a zero value. Is this a bug or is there some way to get this to work?
Thanks!
