Hi all,

My first visit to the forum, hope you can help.

Have installed 5.5 with Pshop 6, everthing appears to be working fine. I am begining to work through Ian's tutorials on using Negfix and slowly but surely getting to grips with it all.

When I am scanning a positive/transparency there is no film manufacturer to select, speed or anything else for matter. Although please note my scans of tranies are fine. Have I missed a selection radio button or am I just being plain old stupid and missed a an important step i.e. there is no requirement to carry out film type and speed etc with positives. Howevere this must be done with Negs.

Thanks

Mike Jones

Mike,

You're not stupid and you haven't missed anything. There are no profiles for slide films as they are not needed. When you use the IT8 you are describing how the scanner sees colour. Negatives are not the opposite of chromes so don't make the same mistake as others and think you should treat both in the same way.

Thanks Ian,

Nice to know that I am not stupid.
However it would be great if negs could be treated the same as Tranies with the IT8 function.
