silverfast and scanning

I have Umax 1200S, downloaded Silverfast demo. But it either keeps saying "insufficient memory for scan" or "There was no scanner found". I can scan with windows XP included software without problems. So what shall I do to make it work?

Regarding the "insufficient memory for scan" message, try reducing resolution to 300 dpi and see what happens. By the way how much memory and free disk space do you have?
Are you scanning stand alone or using the Photoshop plug-in.
Regarding the "There was no scanner found" message, are you turning the scanner on before you start SilverFast?
