I am using SF5.5 ona Polaroid SS4000 scanning negative film ( Fuji superia 400). When I started using the SS4000 & SF5.5 with OVERVIEW the screen capture of the negative holder gave me an exact reproduction of the strip of negs in a positive mode. Lately the screen capture is a blend of Green & Red images, almost impossible to distinguish from one frame to another. I have tried switching from Negative to Positive with no success. Does anyone out there have any ideas? Len

Did you clean up the "Prefs" folder from SilverFast at your Harddisk ?

The preferences files can be found in the folder that contains SilverFast. If you use the Photoshop Plug-in then that is where the Silverfast folder is located and so the Preferences folder is in there. It doesn't matter whether you use PC or Mac the preferences are in the same folder.
Twain files are located under Twain or Twain32 folder inside Windws folder

Going into Windows Explorer I get to 4 folders;
SF(Polaroid SS4000), SF(Polaroid SS4000-FS)
SF(Polaroid SS4000-SF) SF APP(Polaroid).
Is this what you are refering to, if so what do I do next? Len

I'm assuming these folders you mention are located in the Photoshop->plugins->import-export?
In at least one of these folders, you should find a sub-folder titled 'Prefs'. Feel free to trash each Prefs folder you find. SilverFast will rebuild them the next time you launch it.

Your fix worked. Thanks very much for the info. Is there something I did to cause this to happen?

Nope.. sometimes the settings get messed up, or a preference gets changed. It is possible to locate and change back via the software, but it is easiest to trash the prefs. This forces the software back to its defaults.
