Silverfast Ai 6 Studio closes while saving image

Hi,

I am just experiencing a funny problem (to be perfectly honest , it's not really funny):

Having scanned using the manual focus control the first time, Silverfast closes while attempting to save the scanned image to file.
Sometimes I get a Windows error message, sometimes not.

After this has occured first, Silverfast cannot save to file anymore, no matter which options are selected, if any. Even if nothing is done except the pure scan (no filters, no adjustments), and even if the file name is very short and image to be saved to the root directory, Silverfast closes.

What I am using is:

Silverfast 6 Ai Studio (AFL 6.4.2r5c) for Refelecta RPS 7200 Prof. (= PIE 7250 Pro)
Windows Win2k SP4
1 GB RAM

The proprietary CyberView software does not cause any problems, so I think my scanner is ok.

Surprisingly, Silverfast did not show this behavour before having used the manual focus control the forst time.

Has anybody encountered such a problem before?

Dear asto999

please delete the prefs folder (while SF isn't running) and check whether this does improve the situation.

On a typical Windowsinstallation, the SilverFast "Prefs" folder is to be found at:
C: \ Documents and Settings \ (your username) \ Application Data \ Lasersoft Imaging \ SilverFast \

If this does not remedy the problem, please don't hesitate to contact support: http://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html

Thank you in anticipation of your kind co-operation.

Hi Sonny,
hi everybody,

It seems to me as if deleting the Prefs folder fixed the problem. However, it is possible to save the file again.
