Noisy Shadows

Postby mgilvey » Thu Jun 02, 2005 5:37 am

What's the trick to reducing noisy shadows. I have SilverFast AI 6. I could use Noise Ninja but I want to try and remove as much of the noise as possilbe at scan time rather than post.

Dear mgilvey

the best way to elimate noise is - I fully agree with you - to not even let it get into a scanned image file. This is done by making use of a method called multi-sampling.
SilverFast has an exciting new feature to offer to all the scanner's that don't already support this in the hardware:

Now colour noise especially in dark areas due to CCD background noise can be greatly reduced or even totally elimitated.
