LaserSoft Imaging

Hello-

I've recently been testing the demo version of SF AI (both the Twain and PS plugin) with my Acer 2740 scanner. The image previews have looked quite impressive and the various image settings are both logical and intuitive. Before I take the plunge and purchase the software I'd like to find out if the issues I'm experiencng are related to the software or the operator (me).

Using either the PS plugin or Twain driver, I'm unable to use ICE. The intial ICE low-res scan appears to complete and is immediately follwed by the error "An Error occured at the start of the scanning process. Scanner not ready for Scan". Click OK to the error and I'm back to the SF interface. I can complete a scan when not using ICE.

Problem two: When completeing and saving a scan the corresponding image is nearly black. I can see the demo watermarks and am hoping that this problem is associated with licensing.

XP Pro SP2
Athon 2500
1 GB DDR 3200
80 gb ATA HDD
120 gb SATA HDD

Photoshop CS
Latest ASPI drivers
Latest Acard drivers

I can complete a scan using ICE with the Acer shipped software (Miraphoto).

Edit: 28/03/05

uninstalled sofware, deleted residual found at \Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Lasersoft Imaging, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted.

Still unable to utilize ICE. In fact the first time attempting to use ICE it caused a system Stop error (blue screen).

I was able to view one scanned image after the install. Subsequent scans have bgone back to being nearly back.

A third issue has also cropped up. The preview window wasn't refreshing and is now completly black.

Just wondering if I've posted in the wrong place? Is this the wrong venue to post software realted troubles? I've emailed support but haven't heard back.

With the troubles I'm having, coupled with the lack of support I'm afraid I'll have to seek another solution
