Newbie Help SuperVista S12

I have XP computer. I just found a used Umax SuperVista S12. I need a scanner that will do large transparencies and this came withthe transparency lid. I don't do a lot of these, but would like to have the capability.

Problems (for me):

his is SCSI, so I will need a SCSI card. Have no experience is this area. Any recommendations?

Drivers -- no drivers are available for XP, but Silverfast will solve this proble, correct?

Glass scratch. There is a 2 inch scratch on the glass of the transparency lid, which limits my use of this -- I could do a 4X5 transparency, but not a 8x10. Maybe the scratch won't be a factor. Or could I replace it?

Finally, I have no operating manual or specs on this machine. Are any available.?
