IT8 when to replace

Postby adiallo » Sun Jan 16, 2005 6:32 pm

In March 2004 I purchased a 4x5 transp target from Lasersoft (T030604). At the time, the fact that the target I received was already 9 months old at the date of purchase did not seem so significant. But now, I've upgraded computers and want to recalibrate my Howtek 4500. But of course the target is now 19 months old. It's been kept in dark storage. Is it still accurate?

My experience (with LED light sources and IT8 targets) has been that an IT8 tranny stored in the dark , sealed from moisture, has not shown any signigicant changes in over 3 years. Kodak recommends replacing them every year or so. If the target came from *****, you might email him about his experience. Otherwise the only way to know is by measuring the target.
