Descreening

Postby kathryn » Wed May 26, 2004 4:15 pm

Hi there, I'm having a problem and I hope someone can help. We just got a couple of new scanners and this is our first time using SilverFast. Here's a summary of what's going on:

Scanning at:
-332dpi
-QFactor 2.5
-Screen: 133
-cmyk
-100%
-we are scanning a finished book cover

when descreen 133 is selected, image becomes blurry. without descreen
image is crisp but moire pattern shows. can't get a clear descreened
scan. have same problem on 2 macs runnng same equipment and software. tried
USB with same results. have used Agfa and Microtek scanners in the past
and never had this problem. Epson scanner is only a week old.

OS: Mac OS X 10.3 Panther
Scanner: Epson Expression 1640xl-graphic arts
Connection type: FireWire
Host program: Photoshop CS
SilverFast type: Ai
Version: 6.2.0r3

thanks for any responses
