Anger about colors (Scans)

Why I can't choose 'Automatic' at 'Intern > Monitor'? And why I can't choose 'Image Color Matching' at the top field of CMS when I work in the negative-modus? I have Silverfast Ai 6.0 for Minolta 5400.

The colors of my scans are not the same like the picture in the preview (faded, greenish) although my graphic program work in the same color space (Adobe RGB). It's not Photoshop but Picture Window Pro.

My settings are: none (field not activated), ICM, RGB, ITT-Calibration file (not activated), Adobe RGB (1998), none, none, wahrnehmungsgetreu, Adobe RGB (1998)

Help!

Dear myschkin.

Since we use our Negafix Profiles as quasi inputprofiles you can not apply the ICC Profiles when scanning negatives.

Kind regards.

Ok, but there where a lot more questions...

Which monitor-profil are you using for the Silverfast-Preview (ICM), when the computer don't have one? Can I use this for my graphic program?

How can I get to accurate colors, identity between preview and scan?

Did I anything wrong (settings)?

I'm having the same problems. Using a Canoscan FS4000US. When using Canon's Filmget software the colors in both negs and chromes are beautiful- everything else about the program stinks. My colors so far with Silverfast stink but I like all the additional options.

The colors are muted, washed out, and I can't seem to fix them at all.

In my experience it has to do with the right colourspace in both programs (ok with me) and also the same monitor-profile. I don't know which monitor-profile Silverfast is using, so I don't come to an identity of preview and scan. I have always color-shifts...

Think I'll give a call to Silverfast...

Greg, you have to install the newest version of Silverfast Ai! It's like a different world... But I can't guarantee that because I've installed also the newest version of my Minolta scanware - and with both updates the pictures are much more clearer, sharper, better...

I have still some color shiftings using 'ICM' in "CMS/Monitor", but the picture as a whole is a lot better.

Which picture program are you using?

No problems anymore with Photoshop...
