What is the BEST available flatbed scanner for Silverf.?

Postby ThomasTukker » Fri Feb 27, 2004 8:01 pm

Hi,

I am looking to buy the highest quality flatbed scanner I can find to work with Silverfast.

I heard a lot of good things about the Heidelberg, are there other high quality options if money is no object???

Need to be able to scan up to A3 and possibly negs.

Thanks!

Thomas

Best A3-Scanner

Best A3-Scanner

Here is one of the best A3-Scanners. This is the equivalent scanner to the LinoScan 2650. You might get the scanner here:

Thanks for this info, I send emails to these companies for more info. Any other options in this high end segment? Wil you ever support Creo's line of scanners?

Thanks!

Creo Scitex Scanner

Creo Scitex Scanner

Creo Scitex has not shown any interest to support us, so that we can adapt their scanner to SilverFast but SilverFast HDR is an option since it can read the raw file format (48bit tif) from the scanner.

Despite the fact that I'm a Silverfast user and fan, I'd suggest that you don't need to consider Silverfast with the Creo scanners. The Creo scanning software that comes with their scanners is excellent. Considering an Eversmart costs over $30,000 you'd think it had better be.
