Negative type selection to use

Postby MikeD56 » Sat Jan 10, 2004 12:38 am

I'm scanning old (1980) negatives. They are Kodak Safety film. What would be the correct selection in Ai6 since that type is not listed under the Kodak options?
Thanks
Mike

Dear MikeD56.

Thanks for the interest in our SilverFast Software.

From my memory the term "Safety Film" was introduced by kodak when the film passed the standard burning test for safety film described in ANSI/ISO IT9.6-1991 (R1996). This that Ektachrome, Kodachrome and B&W Negative film carried this term.
Please change to Expertmode in the Negafix dialogue and try the Auto Mask detection. Yiu may also edit the histogramm and curves manually. Afterwards you can save the settings as andividual Negafix Profile.

Kind regards.
