Sorry for posing a - probably - stupid question, but I've just started (my attempts!) to scan negatives/slides:

How do I scan negative/slides so that I have files sufficiently large to print them as DIN A4/letter size? Whenever I've tried to adjust the scale or the format (outgoing - Ausgang), - as well as the quality factor - the programme resets after a few seconds (unless I reduce the resolution significantly - which is exactly what I don't want to do). The same

I am using a Mikrotec 3600 Filmscan and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.

Be aware of following details :
Descreenen reduces the max scanresolution to two times the choosed descreening resolution.
The scanresolution could be max the double of the optical resolution of the scanner.
The scanresolution is calculated : scale x outputresolution.

Many thanks for your response. What do you mean by "descreening"?
(BTW - I can produce larger files with the Cyberview software that came with my scanner Microtek Filmscan 3600, and I don't seem to have problems with producing larger files from scanning slides, but negatives still pose a problem)
