6.1.0r2, 6.0.1r36 calibration problem

Postby rgaren » Tue Sep 30, 2003 10:15 pm

we have silverfastAI with IT8 calibration(recently updated to 6.1.0r2 on our epson 1640xl) and our microtek 8700(6.0.1r36) and use win2000. both scanners get regularly calibrated. Have had trouble with reflective calibration for both scanners giving green scans (neutral greys read green with photoshop eyedropper tool). I've tried numerous times trashing the preference and preview folders, and have also tried using different Q60 targets(Kodak and Lasersoft targets). I've followed Ian Lyons latest tutorial to the letter and still am having this problem. Possibilities I've thought of is conflict between windows default profile setting (in control settings) and the SF_R profile, also noticed my default silverfast settings provide anti aliased interpolation not the silverfast standard interpolation. Any ideas what my calibration problem is. We're working in a library archiving setting and it's important that we build accurate profiles.

The grey on the target is not fully neutral. There could be a small color cast in. Please check the Lab Values in Photoshop with the Lab Values in the reference file. Be aware, that you need Colormetric to absolut, to get the correct Lab Values in Photoshop. And be aware of the internal Colorspaces in SilverFast and Photoshop.

kind regards
